Essentials of Care
'Essential care' is the standard below which care must never fall for our patients. Essential care indicators help us measure this.
Our essential care framework provides the guidance and the tools to enable clinical teams to self assess how well they meet what matters most to our patients. It is aligned to our strategic objectives and underpinned by our collective commitment to health equity.
It aims to enable clinical teams in BCHC to reflect on the great care they give and consider whether standards in 12 specific areas or 'domains' are being maintained and to identify areas for improvement.
Our aim is to support our clinical teams to deliver the very best care and be assured that we know what matters most to patients about the care we provide.
Our clinical teams are encouraged to think about how you will plan protected time with teams to review their practice against these indicators and identify their successes and areas for improvements. Colleages are provided with information and guidance which can be adapted to meet particular needs.
