Colleagues get the VIP treatment!
The stars of Team BCHC have been recognised in a special evening of celebration at the 2023 Values in Practice (ViP) Awards.
More than 200 BCHC guests, including colleagues from across the Trust and their friends and family, our valued sponsors and representatives from the community and voluntary sector attended a glittering ceremony at The Rep Theatre in Birmingham to see 16 colleagues and four teams announced as the ViP winners on the night.
The awards recognised individuals and teams who had showed outstanding commitment to the Trust’s values, it also put the spotlight on the unsung heroes and superstars within our divisions and directorates. Exceptional leaders and teams were also recognised through the ‘team of the year’ and ‘leader of the year’ awards. For the very first time, a Chair’s Award was announced in special recognition of high quality care, innovation, living by our values and persistence.
Congratulations also go to our finalists and all other nominees – more than 400 nominations were made in this year’s awards, and in opening the awards evening, Chair Professor David Sallah took time to recognise colleagues outside of the room by saying: “the stories we hear tonight are just part of the story”.
He added: “Delivering the very ‘best care’ day in, day out, which supports us to build ‘healthy communities’ is driven by the commitment of many more people in ‘Team BCHC’.
“We are in constant admiration of the dedication and commitment shown by our colleagues – so I would like to say a huge thank you to all our staff.
“Our finalists here tonight have all been nominated by your colleagues or service users – that is a tremendous tribute to you as individuals and teams – and in that sense you truly are, of course, all winners.”
Chief executive Richard Kirby added: “It is difficult to put into words how incredibly proud The Board and I are of the work you all do and the ways in which our values are put into practice every day. A huge congratulations to all our winners and finalists!
“We would also like to say a big thank you to all our sponsors for supporting us to create a fitting celebration for a special group of colleagues.”
